Not a fan myself. Although I did stay in a very nice hotel whilst I was there "The Annabelle". Didn't think much of the town particularly.
I'm off to Vilamoura in 10 days time for a golf trip. Can't wait.

If you do want a mellow bit of relaxation, the many restaurants around the harbour are a very pleasant place to while away a few hours.
Try Secret Valley for golf. About 20 mins out of Paphos by car towards Limassol.

Its more of a couples place, hire a car and drive over to Ayia Napa, there are places you can stay for 2-3 nights if you want the club scene. Avoid Limassol.

Lovely part of the Island but wouldn't know about clubs :-) there's a few Whoer's that live there so hopefully they will sort you out Woody.
Weather for Paphos on Friday -Sunday unbroken sunshine with temperatures around 30c.
